Components


VBG®-stabilized laser diodes in coaxial and butterfly packages are available in 8 standard wavelengths and SERDS specific pairs ranging from 532 to 1064nm. Diode arrays are available in 794.5, 795, and 808nm wavelengths. Fiber-coupled and free-beam options are standard.  Ask about customized wavelengths and packages.

Lab Instruments

 LabSource benchtop Instruments are available with single or dual laser sources. The single-source LS1 can be used to add Raman spectroscopy capabilities to analytical equipment. The dual-source LS2 has several laser wavelength choices for analyzing multiple optical systems from one convenient source. Use the LS-2 for fast SERDS analysis also.

Modules

VBG wavelength stabilized laser diode modules with several wavelength selections provide maximum output powers with locked-on performance.  Choose from high power multi-mode, single mode and single frequency series modules.

Emitters

Emitter products include a wide range of lasers (FP, DFB, pulsed) in wavelengths ranging from 630 to 1650nm. Light-emitting diodes (SLEDs, ELEDs, etc.) and VCSELs are also available. PD-LD excels in focusing light into virtually all common fibers and connectors.

FP & DFB Lasers

PD-LD offers Fabry-Perot (FP) and distributed feedback (DFB) lasers in wavelengths ranging from 630-1650nm. Isolated and non-isolated versions are available, as are customized options.

LEDs

Single-mode and multi-mode surface-emitting LEDs are available at 850 and 1310nm wavelengths.  Standard Edge Emitting LEDs, ELEDS are available at 1300 and 1550nm.

Pulsed Lasers

Pulsed laser diodes in wavelengths ranging from 1310 to 1650nm are available in a variety of packaging options.

VCSELs

Choose from several different varieties of fiber coupled 850nm Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers or VCSELs. These devices may be mounted in connector receptacle style packages or fiber pigtailed to facilitate optical coupling into Multimode optical fiber.

Multiple Device Assemblies

Multiple device assemblies include bi-directional laser modules, as well as laser combiners and triplexers, which combine 2 or 3 wavelengths respectively.  PD-LD includes several discontinued device configurations from other manufacturers.  Call us for details if your device is not found here.

Bi-Directional Tx & Rx

PD-LD offers a family of bi-directional transmitter and receiver modules operating in the 850, 1310 and 1550nm optical windows. Styles include: WDM versions that transmit and receive at different wavelengths and single wavelength versions that transmit and receive at the same wavelength.

Laser Combiners

Laser combiners combine 2 emitters, say, 2 lasers (e.g., 1310 nm and 1550 nm devices), or 2 LEDs, so that both are coupled to one fiber (SM or MM).

Triplexers

PD-LD Triplexers allow the designer to create test instrumentation with a single optical port rather than three. From this single port the user can switch between 1310nm and 1550nm laser sources for transmitting, or switch to functioning as a receiver .

Photodetectors

PD-LD offers a variety of standard and custom PIN Photodiodes and Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) in fiber-coupled or receptacle packages. InGaAs, silicon, and germanium devices are available. Optimum optical spectrum ranges for each type of device are as follows: Silicon: 400-1100nm, InGaAs: 1100-1650nm, Germanium: 800-1200nm

Germanium PIN & APDs available in standard and custom sizes and packages cover the spectral range of 850 – 1600nm.

InGaAs PIN & APD

 A wide variety of InGaAs PIN Photodiodes & APDs are available in digital, analog, and large-area options. Spectral ranges available: InGaAs PIN: 800 – 1700nm and 1000 – 2600nm – InGaAs APD: 1000 – 1600nm

Si PIN & APD

PD-LD’s Silicon Photodiodes & Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) are available with active areas ranging from 230µm to 3.0mm covering the spectral range of 400 – 1100nm.

Transceivers

PD-LD’s transceivers provide transmission and receiving capabilities in one compact device. Standard SFP (small-form pluggable) and 1×9 styles are available at speeds ranging from 155MB/s to 2.5 GB/s. Custom-made ruggedized transceivers, for use in high-pressure or harsh environments, are also available.

1x9 Standard TXVRs

PD-LD Inc. offers laser diode based fiber optic transceiver modules in convenient industry standard 1×9 style packages. The PTRxxx series modules are designed to operate at 155 Mbps, 622Mbps, or 1.25 Gbps data rate over either multimode or 9/125um single mode optical fiber.

Environmentally Hardened TXVRs

PD-LD has developed a new line of ruggedized transceivers that maintain performance in high-pressure environments without the need for a sealed and pressurized cover. These transceivers are available in a 1×9  and SFP footprint

SFP Standard TXVR

Laser diode based fiber optic transceiver modules in industry standard Small-Form-factor-Pluggable (SFP) packages are designed for 155 Mbps, 1.25Gbps and 2.5Gbps data rate applications, including SONET OC-3, SDH STM-1, Fiber Channel, Fast and Gigabit Ethernet over either multimode or 9/125um single mode optical fiber.

Transmitters & Receivers

Integrated photodiode/transimpedance amplifier assemblies provide high signal:noise performance and preserve circuit board space.

ELEDs

These 1310nm Edge Emitting Type devices have been optimized for coupling into 9/125 micron optical fiber for use in singlemode fiber optic applications.  FC, ST and SC receptacles are also available.

PIN TIAs

Low-noise, high-responsivity InGaAs photo detectors paired with a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) in convenient fiber coupled packages have been optimized for speeds of 155, 622, 1250, and 2500Mb/s.

Single

Single VBG® elements with fixed wavelength and reflectivity offer a convenient and economical stabilization solution. Standard sizes are available, and large volumes are immediately available in certain wavelengths
